Blind Dating….with books!
Chisholm Catholic College Library > #LORAXYear 8 students partook in a special activity in their recent LORAX (Love Of Reading is Awesome and eXciting) lessons. Students were surprised to find they would be participating in blind speed dating… with books! The students went on 6 dates in their LORAX session, becoming acquainted with each of their dates by looking at its front cover, reading the blurb and delving into the first few pages, before moving on to their next date. All students embraced the session, engaging with a wide range of genres, some students even found a date to take home.
Chisholm Readers’ Cup 2018
Chisholm Catholic College Library > #LORAXCongratulations to Alisha Hill and Sienna Wilson for taking out the annual Chisholm Readers’ Cup Competition!
These girls will combine with Callum Coombs and Kate Douglas to represent our school at the District Readers’ Cup in June. Callum, Kate, Megan Leafe and Amy Day were runners up on the day. All students enjoyed afternoon tea in the new library and will also gain 30 bonus points towards the LORAX wide reading program.
