2019 Brisbane South Regional Readers’ Cup
Chisholm Catholic College Library > Readers'cup2019On Tuesday 4th June, three amazing students represented Chisholm at the Brisbane South Regional Readers’ Cup Competition. Readers’ Cup is a State-wide competition organised by the QLD Branch of the Children’s Book Council of Australia. Teams of 3-4 students together read a set of books, and then compete with other school teams to answer quiz questions from the books. Readers Cup competitions challenge students to read widely, work collaboratively in a team and continue developing a love of reading. It allows readers to compete at a regional and state level similar to sporting competitions and to meet other students with an equal passion for books. Chisholm were represented by Kevaan Sandanayake (year 7), Ella Marshall (year 7) and Alisha Hill (year 8). Our incredible students competed against 19 other teams (of four students) from schools such as Somerville House and The Anglican Church Grammar School. Our students placed a well-deserved 4th place, our best result yet. The Chisholm Comm unity are extremely proud of their efforts. Well done Kevaan, Ella and Alisha.
